The work of building a resort has been going on for three years near the Utangan river passing through Fatehabad, Agra. About a year ago, a permanent bridge was built illegally on the river. The road was encroached upon and a gate was put on it. The general public has been stopped from going towards the river. After all this, the officers are now losing sleep.
The resort owner had purchased land in Tehsil Bah area about eight years ago. According to the villagers, the work of building the resort has been going on for the last 3 years. Why did the responsible officials not pay attention to the resort being built in the submerged area for three years?
A permanent bridge was constructed in Fatehabad area and on Utangan river a year ago. Now the officers lost their sleep when the matter came to their notice. Sub-District Magistrate Fatehabad Anil Kumar Singh inspected the bridge built on Utangan River. He said that the water has been stopped by constructing a permanent bridge on the Utangan River on the resort side.
A letter has been sent to the officials of the Irrigation Department regarding the construction and on whose orders this construction has been done. Whether the resort owner has taken any permission or not. SDM told that the resort is being built in the submerged area of Bah tehsil. In this regard, correspondence has been sent to the Irrigation Department and orders have been given for investigation. The Sub-Collector said that no construction can be done within 100 meters of the Utangan River and an investigation is being conducted to find out how the construction is taking place.
At the same time, a road has also been made through the forest. A paved road was built and a big gate was also installed before the river. Where people are stopped from coming. Forest Range Officer Fatehabad Vishal Rathore also inspected the matter. Now he is calling the Ranger Surveyor and talking about investigation and action. Local people say that 7 years ago a concrete road was built through the forest. The Forest Department did not take any action.
